Pelvic Health check


What is the mama-to-be pelvic health check?

The Mama-to-Be pelvic health check is designed for women from 20 weeks of pregnancy onward.

In this personalised one hour session we cover:

- Back and pelvis: A review of how your back and pelvic muscles are functioning to support your

back and bump. If you have pelvic girdle pain or low back pain we can provide specific

treatment.

- Bellies – how to activate your deep abdominal muscles to support you and your baby.

- Pelvic floor – a lot of women aren’t sure how to activate their pelvic floor. We can provide an

observational or internal assessment when it indicated to provide specific feedback on your

pelvic floor strength.

- Bladder care – how to look after your bladder through your pregnancy and early postnatal

days.

- Bowel care – having a regular, easy bowel motion is the foundation of a happy pelvis!

- Sex – helping sex be pain free and enjoyable.

- Exercise – how to safely exercise in pregnancy.

- Birth advice – gentle, easy movements to help with an active first stage of labour.

You will leave the session with specific advice including appropriate exercises for

your pregnancy and early postnatal days.

The Mama-to-Be pelvic health check is offered as single appointment. However if

we find an issue that requires further treatment we can offer Women’s Health

Physiotherapy in both Cromwell and Queenstown and specialist Osteopathy

appointments in Cromwell. At One Body Wellness we are happy to provide referrals

on to great healthcare providers in our region.

In Cromwell we offer specialised equipment Pilates classes – a great way to stay

strong in your pregnancy while maintaining flexibility and preparing for birth and beyond.

Pelvic Physiotherapy can help with all of these symptoms, and more. While no two women are
